

June Peterson Krause passed away on July 24, 2016 in Tigard, Oregon. June was born during the great depression, on June 21, 1929, in Linton, North Dakota to her parents Pearl and Emily Payne, the eighth of nine children. Juney Bug became Duney Bug because her brother couldn’t pronounce the J. Her parents soon moved to Newberg, Oregon in hopes of finding work. June lived with her Grandma Emmerson during late grade school, with her sister, Thelma during High School then with Dr. Snow her senior year before graduating from Portland Union Academy in 1947.
June moved to Portland after graduation and met and married Ken Peterson on June 3, 1950. They lived in Portland and had two children, Bradly Kenneth and Tamara Ann before they moved to Medford, Oregon in 1959.
In 1969 the family moved back to the Portland area and settled in Tigard until Ken and June built their dream home in Sherwood, Oregon. June was widowed in 1991 and in 1999 found love again and married Mel Krause. Mel and June continued living in Sherwood until 2015. June lived in Beaverton and Tigard until 2016.
June loved and cared for her family and others. Her pastimes were sewing, knitting, tole painting, canning, golf, bowling, camping and playing games. June owned and ran Orchard Hill Gifts and Gallery for many years
June met Jesus on July 24, 2016
June is survived by her husband, Mel Krause; her 100 year old sister, Thelma; her son Brad, daughter Tami and Tami’s husband Allyn Walter; her grandchildren Philip, Greg, Melissa, Aaron, Jasmine, Tashmere and Bre and many great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held for June on Sunday, July 31. Donations may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association at www.lbda.org.
