

Leslie “Butch” Gene Allen passed away on March 3, 2016 at the age of 74 in Portland, OR. Les was born in Jefferson City, MO on March 13, 1941 to Bobby Jean and Betty Jean Allen, and grew up in Malden, MO. He graduated from Malden High School in 1961, and attended college for a period of time. Les enjoyed his career as a truck driver, and retired from Hadley Auto Transport, in 2000. He was a member of Grace Point Community Church in Tigard, Oregon and enjoyed the many friendships that he acquired from Grace Point, and the activities that he was able to participate in. Les had a passion for woodworking, and his lifelong hobby of flying private airplanes. He also enjoyed painting in his spare time. However, his greatest passion and what he was most proud of was his family. Most recently Les cherished the time he spent homeschooling and caring for three of his grandchildren.
Les is survived by his three children, Joe Lewis Allen, and his wife, Stephanie, of Tigard, OR; Rita Allen, of Cheyenne, WY; and Robert Perez, and wife, Lucianne, of Gilmer, TX; as well as a brother, Bryan Bailey of AR. Les is also survived by ten grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; and was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Jean Allen, and Joe and Betty Bailey, of Dexter, MO.
A memorial will take place at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Grace Point Community Church in Tigard, OR.
