

As an infant and small child, she lived in Lake Grove, OR, moving to Portland to attend Fernwood Elementary School. She returned to Lake Grove, attended Lake Grove Elementary School and graduated from there in 1929. She attended Lincoln High School graduating in 1933. She attended Reed College and was in the class of 1937. She married Jayrold Pollock in 1936. A son, Keith, was born in 1938. Always hoping to become a nurse, she entered the School of Nursing at St. Vincent Hospital, graduating magna com laude from the University of Portland in 1950. In 1959 she received a Master of Science degree in Nursing Education from the University of Oregon. In 1960 she married Curtis Larson. She served as a staff nurse at Portland Veterans Hospital, a supervisor of surgery, Central Supply, and Out-Patient clinics at Sepulveda Veterans Hospital in Sepulveda, California, a supervisor at the University of Oregon Medical School hospital, a surgical nurse at the U. of Oregon tuberculosis hospital,director of Nursing Services at Dammasch State Hospital and a Professor of Psychiatric Nursing at Clark College and Lower Columbia College, retiring in 1987. Her son, Keith, preceded her in death on December 27, 1991.
Surviving her are her daughter-in-law, Jane Pollock, three grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Tualatin Presbyterian Church in Tualatin, Oregon. Remembrances may be made to Tualatin Presbyterian Church or the Clark College School of Nursing, Vancouver, Washington."
