Marie Christina Riley

Marie Christina Riley, born on May 28, 1935, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2024, in Aurora, Oregon. Marie was a beacon of strength and determination, known for her remarkable ability to mentor young women, guiding them with wisdom and kindness.

Marie was an avid gardener, finding joy in the tranquility of her garden. She was also an active member of her local Red Hat Society, enjoying many gatherings and events that brought laughter and camaraderie into her life.

A devout member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Portland, Marie's faith was a cornerstone of her existence, providing her with comfort and community throughout her life.

Marie leaves behind a loving family: sons Eric and his wife Maggie, and Rev. David and his wife Vicki; her sister, Noreen DeLance; grandchildren, Ken, Andrew, Eric, and Eliza; and a great-grandson, Wilson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Emma Baumgartner.

A Funeral Mass will be held on July 13, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Missio Community Church in Portland, where family, friends, and those whose lives were touched by Marie will gather to honor her memory and legacy.
