Mary Elizabeth McKenzie

Mary Elizabeth McKenzie, 77, passed away at her home in Lake Oswego on June 13th, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 1st, 1945, in Portland, Oregon. Mary was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who touched the lives of all who knew her.

Mary's professional career was diverse, and she worked in various industries throughout her life. She began her career working at a bank during her high school years. She then went on to work as a United Airlines flight attendant, where her beauty and grace earned her the role. Mary's love for learning and experiencing new things led her to explore various careers, including real estate, surgery scheduling at the hospital, transcribing doctor's notes, and working commercial collections for MetroCall.

Mary's passions and interests were equally diverse. She loved swimming and anything to do with water. She and her husband, Lloyd, made it a tradition to visit Lake Tahoe annually, where they could bask in the beauty of nature and create cherished memories. Above all else, Mary's love for her family was paramount. She was a devoted wife to Lloyd for thirty-five years, a loving mother to her children, Tracy Carl, Phillip Austin Vaughn, Paula Vaughn, and Daniel Lloyd Vaughn, beloved grandmother to 4, and a cherished sister to Shirley, Bob, Raymond, and Renee.

A celebration of Mary's life will be held on her birthday, July 1st, at her home in Lake Oswego. Mary's spirit will live on in the memories and hearts of those she touched, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
