Schultz, Merle Otto 86 Feb. 22, 1927 Dec. 17, 2013 Merle passed away suddenly at the age of 86 at his winter home in Arizona. Born in Rugby, N.D., Merle and his wife, Muriel, moved to Portland in 1951. Merle served in the Army and was a longtime member of V.F.W. and the Elks. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards. Merle worked in the trucking industry owning and operating his own businss. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Muriel; brother, Marvin; four children, Wilma, Marlys, Cheryl and Ronald; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. A celebration of his life will be on Dec. 27, 2013, at Youngs Funeral Home, 11831 S.W. Pacific Hwy., Tigard. A viewing will be held at noon, followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. Luncheon to follow service.
