

Michael Floyd Canfield was born on August 13, 1935 in Bismarck, North Dakota to Floyd S. and Marcella D. Canfield. The family moved to Portland in 1942. Michael attended the Blessed Sacrament and Central Catholic schools. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserves from 1955 to 1961. Michael served as a long time letter carrier at Federal and University Stations in Portland from June of 1956 to January of 1993. He was also a proud gold card member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. He also owned, worked and lived at his hazelnut farm in Dundee from 1977 to 2002. Michael was a coach, a father and a friend of the Tri County Little League team. He volunteered at Newberg F.I.S.H. from 2001 to 2003, and he was the vice president in 2002. He moved to Tigard in 2002. He passed away on June 15, 2012 in Tigard, Oregon. Michael is survived by wife, Sue Canfield, sisters, Mary Lausberg, Margaret Perkins, Marilynn Sutherland and Maureen Dunham, brother, Thomas Canfield, sons, Daniel and Timothy Canfield, daughter, Susan Bustamante as well as ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
