Nisar Ahmad Javaid Qazi was born October 12, 1958 in Sahiwal, District Sargodha, Pakistan (Punjab) to a loving family. From a very young age Nisar was a hard worker and supported his family. While growing up he discovered passions for cricket, jet planes, and the arts. Nisar worked diligently for 25 years for the Pakistani government. Nisar met the love of his life, Lucy, in August of 2001. He only called her "Jaan" which meant "his soul". They married on August 14th 2003 in his family home in Pakistan.
Nisar came to the United States in 2004 and became a United States citizen on April 27, 2011. For the last 7+ years Nisar worked for Bob Lanphere Enterprises selling vehicles, a job of which he was very passionate about. Nisar was a natural salesman and a true people person.
Nisar had many outstanding qualities; he was generous, kind, accepting of others and was always positive. Even though Nisar's health was an ongoing concern he rose above it and persevered. Nisar had a strong faith in God which allowed him to never give up and to live each day to its fullest. For several years he would have dialysis before going to work, followed by a full work day and coming home looking forward to having dinner with his wife. For Nisar, going to work was a great joy in his life, he found happiness in working hard and providing for his family.
Cooking gave Nisar much contentment, he and Lucy learned to cook many traditional Pakistani/Indian recipes together. His favorite dish to eat and make was goat curry. Every morning Nisar and Lucy would share a cup of tea, this was a daily tradition which allowed them to spend quality time together and talk about their upcoming day. Nisar was a family man and loved spending time with his step sons David and Lucas. Children were naturally drawn to his kind nature and Nisar adored children very much. When Nisar last visited Pakistan in 2011 he was delighted to visit with his family and hoped he could visit again.
Nisar was a man with many interests. On a typical day off you could find Nisar relaxing playing a competitive game of Scrabble with Lucy and enjoying a movie in the evening. He also loved electronics and photography. It was not uncommon to find Nisar at a Best Buy store fiddling around with the latest technology available or coming home with some new gadget that caught his eye. Nisar had a deep passion for music and poetry and could often be heard teasing that he was “the best singer”. When not singing one could often find him whistling his new favorite tune.
Nisar was truly a kind and gentle man who leaves a legacy of dedication, excellence and love for his family. His joyous personality, deep faith and friendly nature will be missed by all who knew him.
Nisar passed away on December 10, 2014 in Portland, Oregon. Per his wishes and religious beliefs private services will be held in Pakistan where he will be laid to rest at the Lal Shah Graveyard beside his Parents. Friends and family are invited to leave condolences, stories, photos, and memories here on the online guest-book.
