Peter Hill Dowse

Peter was born February 2, 1936, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Charles and Thelma Dowse. Peter Married Janet McGregor Dowse August 4, 1961 and was happily married until Janet’s passing in 1996. They were the parents of two sons, Robert McGregor Dowse (Kim) of Marina Del Ray, CA, and Michael Charles Dowse (Jennifer) of Phoenix, AZ.

Following Janet’s passing, Peter and Jane Coombs married August 21, 1997 at Brighton Ski Resort and relocated to Portland, Oregon were they were happily together for over twenty-six years.

Peter is survived by his loving wife Jane, sons Robert and Michael, stepsons John J Handley and Patrick C Handley (Nicki) as well and grandchildren Allyson Bollman (Matthew), John Dowse, Gabriel L Handley, and one great grandson, Greyson J Bollman.

Peter was a graduate of Westminster College of Salt Lake City, Utah, and upon graduation embarked on a successful professional career with the Polaroid Corporation followed by over thirty years with Proctor and Gamble.

During the 1970’s and 1980’s Peter loved spending time with Janet playing tennis and socializing with their friends at the Cottonwood Country Club.

Following Peter’s marriage to Jane and his move to Portland, Peter enjoyed quality time with Jane exploring Europe, gardening, golfing, and camping in central Oregon along the Metolius River.

Peter will be missed and will always hold a place in our hearts. In lieu of flowers the family would ask that family and friends of Peter donate to a charity of their choosing.
