Sandra Roseamond Fink, lovingly known as Sandy, was born on May 25, 1951, in Portland, Oregon, to John Lloyd and Dolores Lloyd. She spent most of her life in Oregon, with brief periods living in North Carolina and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Sandra attended schools in both Portland and Woodburn, Oregon, and graduated from James Monroe High School in 1969. She continued her education at Northwestern College of Business, where she completed coursework in computer programming and accounting. Throughout her life, she remained committed to learning, taking additional college classes while working full-time.
Sandra built a diverse career, working in computer operations, programming, accounting, and administrative roles. She later served as a Trust Benefit Technician II at First Interstate Bank, where she calculated retirement benefits for union trust accounts.
Beyond her professional life, Sandra had a deep desire to help others. She volunteered as a advocate in the mental health field, where her compassion and empathy made a meaningful impact. Through these experiences, she came to believe that the best source for answers to life’s challenges is God—a faith that became central to her life.
On April 22, 1977, Sandra married Conrad Fink Jr. Together they built a life and raised two daughters, Rebekkah Kehm of Portland, Oregon, and Jennifer Williams of San Diego, California. Conrad preceded her in death on February 15, 1995.
Sandra found joy in both simple pleasures and creative pursuits. From a young age, she loved being outdoors—gardening, picking berries, and working in the yard. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and drawing, often sharing her handmade creations as gifts for family and friends. She especially cherished writing letters and treasured every response she received.
Faith was a cornerstone of Sandra’s life. She first experienced gospel meetings in Portland in 1965 and attended conventions that left a lasting impression. Though she stepped away from her faith for a time, she returned following the passing of her mother in 2002. Witnessing the peace and joy of others rekindled her desire to reconnect, and from that point on, her faith brought her deep comfort, strength, and purpose. She faithfully attended church conventions in Boring, Oregon, and Walla Walla, Washington, drawing encouragement and renewal from each gathering.
Sandra is survived by her brother, Ken Lloyd of Ramona, California; her daughters, Rebekkah and Jennifer; and her beloved grandchildren: David Flath, Josiah Kehm and Ivan Kehm; Connor Williams and Haylee Williams. She is also survived by many dear friends who were an important part of her life.
Sandra will be remembered for her kind heart, creative spirit and bountiful poems, and faith. She was deeply grateful for the people who encouraged her throughout her life and for the spiritual community that sustained her. Her life was marked by deep compassion and a quiet devotion that touched all who knew her, often beautifully expressed through her poetry.
