Virginia was born on May 27, 1935 in Wichita, KS. Her family left Kansas in 1940, and Virginia has been a resident of Oregon since 1967. It was in 1968 that she went to work for Leupold and Stevens, from where she retired in 1999. She began playing the harp at age 11, and played all her life until health issues forced her to stop, although she was very pleased to be able to donate her instrument to the Sisters of St. Mary or Oregon school.
When her mother went to live at Maryville Nursing Home in 1991, Virginia visited her every single day, and after her mother’s passing she continued to go there to help assist the residents who had difficulty eating. Around the time of her retirement, Virginia began to donate her time to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and also the Salvation Army.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard “Dick” Wilkinson in 1983.
She is survived by a daughter, Lois Foster and husband Charlie of Beaverton, and their children Charlie and Joshua; and by numerous nieces and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
