Russ was preceded in death by his loving parents, William and Mary Hargan, and his dear brother, Chuck. Their memories lived on in his heart, guiding him through life's triumphs and challenges. William is survived by his cherished sister, Kimberly, who stood by his side through thick and thin. His nephew, Jamie who he completely adored and admired, and niece, Tiffany, held a special place in his heart, as did his two great nephews and one great niece. Additionally, William shared an irreplaceable bond with his beloved friend, Jeff, who he spent countless hours hunting with.
Throughout his life, Russ pursued his passions with fervor and embraced the beauty of the outdoors. A true outdoorsman at heart, he found joy in hunting, fishing, and the pursuit of digging clams along the coastline. His love for nature was infectious, and he often shared his adventures with friends and family, leaving them in awe of his tales.
Russ' professional journey was just as remarkable as his personal life. He honed his skills as a glassblower, even working with world-renowned artist Chihuly. His meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to his craft made him an exceptional artist. His creations will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to witness their breathtaking beauty.
Those who knew Russ well understood his independent and stubborn nature, but also recognized the immense depths of his caring and kind heart. He was always there to lend a helping hand or offer a listening ear to anyone in need. His generosity knew no bounds and left an indelible mark on the lives of those he encountered.
He was an active member of The Eagles and The American Legion, where he found solace and camaraderie with like-minded individuals. He cherished the bonds he formed within the organization and worked tirelessly to support the community he held dear.
Before his passing, Russ served his country with honor and distinction as a Sergeant in the Marines. His time in the military shaped his character and instilled in him the values of loyalty, bravery, and selflessness. His service will forever be remembered and appreciated by a grateful nation.
