parents, Arthur S. Peterson and Louise O. Peterson (Vial) in Portland,
Oregon. He graduated from Grant High School, and attended Oregon
State University until the start of World War II. He enlisted in the
Navy and was stationed throughout the Pacific theater. He was part of
the Eleventh Special Naval Construction Battalion of the III
Amphibious Corps Task Organization. He was working in the Seabees,
assisting with delivery of supplies for the invasion of Okinowa.
After the war, he married Verna K. Wolf, in Portland, Oregon. He
attended the University of Oregon, graduating with an Architecture
Degree. He practiced Architecture for 4 decades in Portland, Oregon.
He is survived by his wife, Verna, two Children, Nancy Louise and
Douglas George, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grand children."
A memorial will be held on January 15, 2010 at 2 PM at Christ Episcopal Church, 1060 SW Chandler Road, Lake Oswego, Oregon. Contributions should be made to the Oregon Food Bank, or Christ Episcopal Church, Lake Oswego.
