    Arby and I were so sorry to hear about Al, you are in our thoughts and prayers.

He Who Is My Husband
The first time I saw you, I wanted to share the rest of my life with you.
I knew you were the man for me. Sure, we've had ups and downs, but our bond is unbreakable.
The bottom line is this: I would do it all over again, in a heartbeat. I love you, heart and soul, inside and out, forever and always and no matter what.
This was a card that Al carried in his wallet from the day I gave it to him 17 years ago.  He was my rock, my protector, my soul mate, my love, my best friend and even though he is not here with me right now, I know he is looking down at me and I can feel his strong arms around me, telling me to be strong. He is at peace now and is pain free.  No more walker, leg brace, wheelchair or medications. 
We had a lot of fun together with the different trips that we took or just being in the same room together. We talked, laughed, cried and most of all, loved each other unconditionally.  
I will miss his smile and him saying “My Sweetie is home and that makes me happy” when I come home from work. We never left the house without getting a kiss from each other, and we never went to bed mad at each other.  We would sit and talk about things that happened in our day, every day. 
I will miss his goofiness, such as hearing him playing a Sousa CD and marching around the family room or bragging about how he fixed dinner by putting everything in the crock pot and turning it on, but he forgot to plug it in….that was my electrician.  Al spoiled me in a way no one else ever could imagine. He had a heart bigger than he was and was always willing to help out anyone with whatever he could do for them.  He loved life.  He loved traveling and he loved people, but most of all, he loved me.
Al, until we meet again, you will always have my heart and soul with you. I adore you and love you with all my heart.

Dearest Alice,
Our love to you as we honor your sweetheart and the joy of your life who had a great spirit and much courage with the challenges of his health journey.  We will always have Al in our heart forever and will hear his voice and humor every where we go.  It was a blessing to know his gentle but most caring spirit for all who passed his way.  His picture says it all.  We shall continue to be your Virginia Cheerleaders.

  Alice, Our deepest sympathy on your loss of Al. It was very interesting to hear the comments about that were made by many of his friends and acquantences. They all matched the Al we came to know. Everyone described him as a gentle, caring, sharing and giving person. It was truly a pleasure to have known Al. In all the years we knew Al and in all of the circumstances we dealt with Al, we can never remember a time he was upset or flustered. He dealt with all situations calmly and cooly. We will always be eternally greatful for how he treated Steve and the things he taught him and allowed him to do, on and to your house. That was when his patience and gentleness truly showed through. It really impressed Steve how many of your friends knew about Steve and came up and talked to him. It was always very comforting to know Al was acroosed the lane, there and willing to help with anything at any time. So sorry for your loss Alice.  Pat will miss Al so much. He really looked forward to their talks.  Don't hesitate to call us if you need anything or would just like to talk.

Seems so unfair after the hard long fight that such a great guy like Al should not win the fight.  He was my best friend and I will miss him terribly.

You and Al were the ultimate couple - always smiling when together. Al was so proud and happy that you were his wife.
 Al's pride in Tim and his family was evident whenever he spoke of them.
 Having all of you made everything all right with his world.  He put up a good fight, but we're glad he is at peace now. Soon you will remember him in better times. 
 We were glad to know Al and we'll miss him the rest of our days.

So sorry to hear of Al's passing...condolences to his family...I remember Al from many years ago when he resided at the Strong residence in Franklintown...he always had  a sense of humor,and I will always remember that about him....

It can be so hard to face the first year without your loved one, but the love of family and friends can carry you through.
