Dr. Edmond J. McDonnell a retired prominent orthopaedic surgeon after a two year illness while surrounded by his loving family died on January 4, 2011. Dr. McDonnell was a loving husband of Isabel Christianna McDonnell and the late Catherine Joan McDonnell; Devoted father of Shiela Catherine McHenry, Edmond Joseph McDonnell, Jr., Mary Catherine Carr, Steve Chris Tsakiris, and Erin C. McDonnell; Dear brother of Eleanor Fullerton of Falls Church, VA; Cherished Grandfather of seven grandchildren and thirteen Great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends in the Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc. 10 W. Padonia Road (at York Road) Timonium, Maryland 21093 on Friday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Joseph Church, 101 Church Lane Cockeysville, MD on Saturday, January 8 at 12PM . Interment New Cathedral Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be directed in Dr. McDonnell’s name to Gilchrist Hospice Care, 11311 McCormick Road, Suite 350 Hunt Valley, MD 21031.
