It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Howard Jackson, who was born on July 22, 1939, and left us on February 2, 2026. He was preceded in death by his father, John Howard Jackson; his mother, Cecelia Alice (Gibson) Jackson; two brothers, John Richard Jackson and Charles Webster Jackson; and his beloved daughter, Wanda Jackson-Greene.
Howard was a loving father, brother, and grandfather, and he leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories. He is survived by his six children: Howard Douglas Jr. (Doug), Diane Jackson, Joanna Jackson-Presbury (Rodney), Howard Norman Jackson (Norman), Traina Jackson-Clark, and Dana Eams Jackson. Also mourning his loss are his brother, Kenneth Norman Jackson (Patty), and 14 grandchildren. Howard was a father figure to many, and his kindness and love extended beyond his immediate family to a host of other children who considered him their dad.
Known to many as a man who never truly "put his tools down," Howard lived a life defined by service—to his family, his business, and his Lord. His hands were rarely still. Whether he was running his handyman company or famously converting his station wagon into a truck, he saw potential in everything. This same passion extended to his music; a talented keyboardist, he took great pride in producing his own gospel CD, sharing his testimony through melody.
A devout Christian, distance was no obstacle to his faith, as he frequently traveled to New York to worship with his church community. Later in life, Howard felt the Lord leading him back to his family’s home church, Isaiah Baptist Church. When he wasn't working or traveling, he was at the center of family life. He was a formidable Monopoly player and a passionate football fan who spent his Sundays cheering for the Miami Dolphins and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Howard leaves behind a legacy of hard work, joyful music, and a family who will miss his presence at every gathering.
The family will receive friends in the Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc. 10 W. Padonia Road (at York Road) Timonium, Maryland 21093 on Monday, February 16, 2026 from 10 to 12PM at which time a funeral service will be celebrated 12PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Howard's memory can be made to Isaiah Baptist Church, located at 1931 Monkton Road, Monkton, Maryland 21111.
