Dear Family of Joan's,
I am so sad for you all. You must know how much Joan meant to so many people. Not only having had lunch with her recently, but all through the years. She came to our Notre Dame luncheons, dinners and reunions. She was always with us. She and I had so many laughs in our English Lit classes in high school. I think of Heathcliff, Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights and remember oh, so many jokes we made about them. Every meal we shared thereafter, we talked literature....I was always so impressed with her depth of understanding and her continued interest in learning. We were away during the holidays so I missed saying good-bye....I may just pretend she is still around somewhere.....laughing and studying!

To Joan's family:  When I received the e-mail with the news that Joan had passed, the sender told me, "you're not going to believe this".  I was saddened to hear the news.  I met Joan in 1985 when I began working for DPSCS and I just remember her being one of the most kindest, sweetest people I have ever met.  I see how much she loved and how much she was loved as I viewed the photos.  God bless her family and friends and just know I will miss her, too.

Dear Family - I haven't seen Joan for over 20 years, snf when I heard, I was deeply saddened.  When I thought back on the days we spent together at work, I thought of a shining star - I could see her smile and hear her laugh.  I was lucky to have know such a wonderful individual. I will always remember Joan at the AG's Office for her maturity, her decency, her smile, and her modest laughter.  She was a gem!  While her family undoubtedly knows she was loved by them, they should also know how well she was thought of by her former co-workers and friends.  May she rest in peace.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Joan's passing.  I worked with her back years ago in the Attorney General's Office and she was a true friend and great co-worker. I can remember her talking all the time about her sister and her daughters that she loved so much. She will be missed. My prayers will be with Joan's family during this difficult time.  She is gone too soon.

Joan was the glue that held us together at the Attorney General's office. She was a great audience for our nonsense, a great source of common sense, and a model of what it meant to put family first. Her love for her family made her one of my favorite people. She will be missed on earth but will live forever within each of us who knew her.

Joan was a kind and gentle person who always had a smile and a laugh. She leaves a wonderful legacy in her daughters and their families.

I will always remember Joan as a sweet, quiet and humble person.  It is hard to believe that physically she will know longer be here but in spirit she will remain in everyones heart.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Joan's passing.  I worked for many years with Joan at the Attorney General's Office and just remember her wonderful sense of humor and laughter that radiated throughout our office,  She was one of the nicest, kindest and most loving person that I have ever worked alongside.  I will pray for her beloved family's strength during this sad time.
