MSG. Lawrence Turner Mathison, (retired) age 84, of Ocean City, MD died Friday, March 28, 2025 at home. He was born in Baltimore, MD and was the son of the late Turner Mathison and Lorraine M. (Westphal) Mathison.
After retiring from the US Army War College where he led Systems Communications, Larry continued to prosper in the IT field with PHH Group, Alex. Brown & Sons and, finally, Baltimore County Board of Education before moving to Ocean City, Md at the close of his career. He was a member of St Luke's Catholic Church and the local VFW.
Larry is survived by his wife Joan E. Mathison; three children, David B. Mathison and wife Jackie of Bel Air, MD., Laurie Ann Mathison of Cockeysville, MD. and Eric D. Mathison of Strasburg, VA.; sister Rachalle Dorothy Kilduff of Perryville, MD.; five grandchildren, Justin D. Culbertson, Taylor A. Mathison, Rabecca E. Mathison, Chris Vananzo and Nikki & Bobby Beard; six great-grandchildren, Zoeie and Victor Culbertson, Maddy, Sophi, Cady and Junior Beard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenny Kilduff, Jr.
The family will receive friends at the Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc., 10 W. Padonia Road (at York Road) Timonium, MD 21093 on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held in St Joseph’s Church 100 Church Ln., Cockeysville, MD 21030 on April 24, 2025 at 11am. Burial will be in High View Memorial Gardens in Fallston, Maryland
