Martha was born on April 4, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland to parents Robert and Caroline Lombardo. Martha attended Hagerstown Business College and pursued a career as a healthcare professional. She began her career as a medical transcriptionist and retired as CEO of a multi office medical practice with Dr. Stuart Brager. Martha passionately supported Chesapeake Habitat for Humanity, volunteering for 25 years. Martha earned recognition as volunteer of the year in 2004 for her dedication.
Martha is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, E. Robert Morris Jr. , her daughter Suzanne and son in law Derek Wireman, her sister, Nancy Oswald, brother Bob Lombardo and his wife Hildegard, brother Bob Hunter and his wife Lee, and brother John Hunter. Beyond her immediate family, Martha is loved by her nieces and nephews and their families, Don and Lisa Oswald, and their children Sarah and wife Megan and Grace, Chris and Cheryl Oswald, and their children Lauren and her husband Justin Green, and Josiah Oswald and his fiancé Gracie, Mindy Hunter Kirkland and her husband Bill Kirkland and their children, Ben Hunter and his family, Ian Hunter and his family, Jonathan Hunter Jr. and Josh Hunter.
In addition to her family, Martha loved taking walks with her husband to see which birds they could spot. Her love of birds led her to volunteer as a bluebird monitor at Cromwell Valley Park. When walking became difficult, she enjoyed long car rides through the Baltimore County countryside looking at old homes and farms. Martha had a lifelong love of dogs and in the final years of her life, she would tell anyone she saw she needed a dog. This need of a dog is what urged her daughter to get Martha’s grand dog, Lily.
Martha loved ice cream; so much so that she and her husband completed the Maryland Ice Cream Trail more than once, enjoying ice cream from dozens of Maryland creameries, even winning the prize for having visited every one. Martha would have ice cream every day, often wanting to skip the meal and go straight to dessert.
A private family service will be held at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens in Timonium, Maryland 21093
