

Robert Eugene "Bob" Meehan, 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 9, 2021. The son of the late Frank and Monica Meehan, Bob was born in Baltimore on August 21, 1932. Bob attended Saint Dominic's grade school and graduated Mount St. Joseph High School in 1951, where he was the recipient of the Brother Eugene Trophy for outstanding scholar athlete and gentleman. In 1994, Bob was inducted into the Mount St. Joseph Athletic Hall of Fame. Bob served in the United States Army and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan during the Korean War and was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant in 1955. Bob went on to graduate from the University of Baltimore in 1956 and was a proud member of the Baltimore "Bees" basketball team.
Bob began his professional career with United States Rubber Company before spending 30 years at Volvo White Trucking Company (the former White Motor Trucks.) Bob served as President of the Maryland Motor Trucking Association in 1980.
Bob and his loving wife of 63 years, Beverly, had nine children in 11 years. The family moved multiple times before settling in Cockeysville where they resided for the last 47 years. Bob and Bev were fortunate to have traveled much of the world and shared a particular love of the Caribbean. Bob was an avid golfer (self-admittedly not a very good golfer) and enjoyed leisurely travel; he visited 47 of the 50 states in the U.S. and 4 of the 7 continents. He was a member of the Society of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, Baltimore; a member of the Towson Elks Club; and a dedicated volunteer at the Loch Raven VA Medical Center. Bob was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church and lived a life committed to his faith, family and friends.
Bob was a loving brother to his siblings: Alan Meehan (Janet); Carroll Meehan (Ellen); Denise Fulco (Carl); and Joseph Meehan (Pat). Bob was the proud father of Colleen Meehan; Terrence Meehan; Catherine LeCompte; Thomas Meehan; Michael Meehan (Kim); Michelle Meehan; Margaret Meehan; Monica Meehan; and Robert Meehan (Anju). Bob was a wonderful grandfather and great-grandfather. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in his honor Monday, October 4, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church (100 Church Lane, Cockeysville, MD 21030.)
