

Born September 25, 1922, in Baltimore, he was the son of Marie Miller Pohl and Walter Frederick Pohl, and the brother of Richard Clarke Pohl of Baltimore. He was the husband of Nancy Farley Pohl (nee Farley) for 58 years.
Robert was a 1940 graduate of the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute and a 1955 graduate of The Johns Hopkins University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was a member of the Maryland State Guard during World War II and he retired from the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company with 46 years of service. He was a life-long member of Faith Presbyterian Church of Baltimore and was very active in the church, serving in many roles such as Deacon, Lead Usher, and Sunday School teacher. He enjoyed helping other people and was a longtime volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are son Robert Farley Pohl and wife Karen Adams Pohl, of Marriottsville; daughter Pamela Pohl McGlaughlin and husband Victor Grey McGlaughlin, Jr., of Nottingham; sister-in-law Evelyn Pohl; nephews Charles Wrightson, Bruce Wrightson, and David Pohl, niece Linda Whitehead; grandchildren Jennifer Hurff, Bobbie Kim McGlaughlin, Michael Pohl, Bethany McGlaughlin, and Victor McGlaughlin III; great grandchildren Ryan Hurff, Abigail Hurff, and Haley McGlaughlin.
The family will receive friends in the Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc., 10 W. Padonia Road (at York Road) Timonium, MD 21093 on Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM and on Monday, November 12 at the Oak Crest Chapel, 8800 Walther Blvd., Parkville, MD 21234 from 10:30 to 11 AM at which time a funeral service will be celebrated at 11AM.
