

On the evening of January 29th 2016, Samuel F. Towle passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Towson, Maryland. Sam was an accomplished custom home builder, and founded Samuel F. Towle & Sons Construction Co. in the early sixties. Over the years with Sam at the helm, Towle Construction became synonymous with the building of the some of the highest quality custom homes throughout Maryland. He was a 32nd Degree Master Mason and a member of the Jephthah Masonic Lodge 222 for over sixty years. He was proud to have served in the Marine Corp. and was stationed at Camp David during WWII. Sam, and his wife Jean of 68 years, retired to Florida in the early 2000’s. He continued to enjoy projects around the house before moving back to Maryland to reside at Bonnie Blink Masonic Lodge in Hunt Valley where he spent the remainder of his retirement.
Sam is survived by his loving wife Jean Towle for 68 yrs; beloved father of Linda Abramson and her husband Joe, Jim Towle, Ron Towle and his wife Mary and Cheryl Kouns and her husband Garry; cherished grandfather of Jim, Harry, Karen, Josh, Anthony, Christopher, Michael, Brooke, Sam, Jessica, and Nichole; also survived by 9 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends in the Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc., 10 W. Padonia Road (at York Road) Timonium, Maryland 21093 on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 3 to 7PM.
Services and interment private.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Mr. Towle’s memory to Maryland Masonic Homes, 300 International Cir., Cockeysville, MD 21030.
