

Born on December 1, 1932, Stanley proudly served in the Air Force from 1952 to 1956. He had a lifelong passion for education and graduated from the University of Baltimore in 1963 with a B.S. in Industrial Management. He worked as an Industrial Project Manager at Westinghouse for most of his career. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life and was an avid reader, enjoyed visiting extended family in other states, and enjoyed social dinners both at home and at area restaurants with family and friends. He was also an active community and church volunteer with his wife Evelyn, especially during their retirement years. He enjoyed meticulously tending to his garden, cutting the grass, and trimming shrubs as well as hitting the links for a round of golf. He enjoyed travelling both in the United States and to countries in Europe including Rome, Italy and Germany and created cherished memories with his family along the way.
Stanley's greatest love was his family. He adored his late wife, Evelyn, whom he met at a dance social, and their shared love for dancing continued throughout their lives. He was a devoted father to Karen Scharfenberg and her husband George, Lora Morris and her husband Michael, and Janice Zacker. He was a cherished grandfather to Stanton Zacker and his wife Suzy, Gabriela Wood and her husband Andrew, Eric Scharfenberg, and Nicholas Morris. Stanley was also the proud great-grandfather of Adrianna, Hayley, Madison, Kyle, and Jake. He is also survived by his dear sister Patricia Bauer and her husband Joseph, sister-in-law Diane Zacker, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Zacker.
Known for his love of a good crab cake and his dedication to those he held dear, Stanley will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
The family will receive friends at the Lemmon Funeral Home of Dulaney Valley, Inc., 10 W. Padonia Road (at York Road) Timonium, Maryland 21093 on Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 10:30am to 12pm at which time a funeral service will be celebrated at 12pm.
Interment Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery following the funeral with military honors.
