My God Father & Uncle. The most compassionate man. Unfailingly kind & generous to all. Always smiling, always giving, always there. Uncle Tommy was a man that everyone could look up to, a great role model. He truly was an amazing person, "an earth angel". Our family will never be the same without him around, we will miss him forever & always. I know that I will continue to spread kindness & generousity in his name. Heaven has the most perfect angel! 

Uncle Tommy was the most selfless guy I’ve ever met. He was always there - holidays, birthdays,  graduations (near and far), he was always there.  There are so many memories I have of Uncle Tommy - so I’ll just name a few.  Growing up, I remember all the cookouts that him and aunt Nancy would host. Usually Memorial Day, Labor Day, birthdays...great cookouts and everyone came!  My favorite, as weird as it sounds, was his grilled corn on the cob- I could not get enough of it! I remember the Super Bowl parties, the only super bowl parties I went to until I left for college. I remember all of us filling out the brackets and watching the big game together as a family. I remember hanging out in the basement playing air hockey for hours.  Me, Timmy, and Joey, my dad, Uncle Tommy and aunt Nancy - just being together.  I know we were there a lot.  I remember the start of Longo’s appliance - (maybe not the start... but I remember the new stores and running around all the boxes and things to ‘play’ with.)  He helped me so much with my condo, helping with my moving in, my moving out, renting, he helped me and guided me through it all. He painted walls, he fixed things, he did it all.   My mom always loved uncle Tommy so much- after her and my dad split up she stayed close and still would join him and the family for his annual big party. He always made her feel part of the family.  I remember the last Christmas I was home, James was only 3 months old.  We did secret Santa and I picked one of uncle Tommy’s gifts he brought. It was, of course, a gift card to Basta Pasta in a Childrens animated board book about robots. He didn’t even think twice about the book, just thought it was funny.  Well - I gave the gift card to Wes (I think) and kept the book and still read that robot book to both James and Vivian regularly.  I’ll never get rid of it. Thank you Uncle Tommy for everything- for being such an important part of my life. I miss you like crazy and love you so much.  We all do. 

I believe my Mom passed 11 days earlier to welcome her “3rd Son,” Tommy into Heaven. She said he was her very first thought in the morning and her last thought before falling sleep.
 She always called him a Saint and said that God would ask Jesus to move over and let Tommy sit next to him when he arrived. 
I am in disbelief... I still cannot believe that I have lost my Mother and my Cousin both within 11 days? God must have needed Two Angels in December to watch over us as we are all having a really hard time without the both of them down here with us. 🙏🏼💔👼🏻👼🏻

Uncle Tommy was always the “fun” Uncle growing up.  My sister Sue and I talk about the weekends we would spend with Aunt Nan and Uncle Tommy once a year on our parents anniversary.  He always tried to make it fun for us.  We were just recently  laughing about the time we were staying with them and Sue had Just gotten her license a few weeks before.  We were about to walk to the pizza place nearby , and Uncle Tommy threw us the keys and said “take the car and go somewhere better”.  She probably hadn’t ever driven more than half a mile from our home.  We reminded him that she was a new driver, but he laughed and go ahead anyway.   We looked at each other, shrugged, and went for a ride!! What a great, generous , fun Uncle,... and an all around wonderful guy.  

IT'S SO HARD TO FIND THE WORDS TO TALK ABOUT SOMETHING THAT I STILL CAN'T COMPREHEND.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 TOMMY WAS MY BEST FRIEND,  MY ALLY,  MY BROTHER,  MY CONFIDANT,  MY BLOOD.                                                     A BIG PART OF ME HAS GONE WITH TOMMY,  BUT I BELIEVE A PART OF HIM WILL BE WITH ME ALWAYS.  HE WAS THE PERFECT  PERSON,  THE PERFECT  BROTHER,  AND WAS ALWAYS THERE FOR ME.   I AM SO PROUD OF TOMMY FOR THE PERSON HE WAS AND HOPE I CAN BE MORE LIKE HIM. We feel very honored to call Tommy our brother (in-law).  He was one of the finest people we have ever known.  Tommy lived life the way it was intended to be lived ... one with purpose, love, kindness and generosity for all.  He loved his family and friends and would do anything for anyone.   We love and miss you so much.

Tommy was one of a kind, always thinking of others before himself.  We will miss you and we will see you again one day.

I will never forget what a wonderful brother in law Tommy was to me and welcomed me into the family 6 yrs ago.  I will cherish our last family time together back last fall riding around His sister Sues farm,  then our dinner at Friendly Farms restaurant.  
My heart and prayers go out to his family during this time of grieving.  
Tommy was a caring and giving person who will always hold a special place in my heart .

It is hard to share a memory when there were so many.  So many laughs, lunches and late nights out. Everyday I see things that remind me of you. Big blue pick up trucks are suddenly everywhere! I miss your advise on how to handle so many things. It has been months since you left us and yet I still miss your daily call or texts. I stare at your pictures throughout the house talking to you in hopes you can hear me.  I know you are near. I just wish you were here. I know now that death is just a change in lifestyles.  So my sweet big brother as you spread your kindness throughout the heavens with the angels keep a watchful eye on those who love you and miss you here on earth! Tommy-You were the greatest person, friend & BROTHER-IN-LAW. The world lost one of the best. We had so many happy times together. We miss you & think of you 24/7.

Nancy, our hearts are broken.  Tommy's death has left a huge hole in our hearts and lives.  He was such a funny, generous, honest, kind and gentle soul.  He would help anybody in need.  

Tommy had many, many friends and Norm and I were so lucky to be two of them.  We had so many great parties over the years and then there was the Jerry D's  crowd on Wednesday nights.  What fun and life long memories.  He had the best Super Bowl Parties as well.  One of my fondest memories, is when he dressed up as Elvis to do the vows at Mark and Lucia's 25th wedding anniversary.  When he walked down the path to the water in his white suit, Elvis hair and scarves we all were so surprised and in tears.  What a moment!!!!  He made a great Elvis.

So as we mourn the loss Tommy, our dear friend, I hope we can carry on in life being the kind of friends to others as he was to us.  We are thankful that we were able to be part of his life. Rest In Peace, until we meet again.

Nancy, there are not enough words to express my sympathy for you and your family and how my heart hurts with this loss. Tommy was such a wonderful, sweet, kind friend and he will be deeply missed. Nan and family.. We are so sorry to hear of Tommy's death.  He was a wonderful man.  You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Our families have been friends for over 30 years and I will always remember Mr. Tommy as a kind, loving, and generous soul. I always looked up to him because he was a Jack of all Trades and a very cool dad who rode motorcycles, drove big trucks, and enjoyed life to the fullest. 

I look back with great fondness on all the sporting events we went to, hockey games he drove Tim and I to all over Maryland, meals we shared, and good times our families have had together.  He was a proud father who always made the time to make Tim's games and he usually had the video camera handy to record them too.  He was even kind enough to share several of those videos with me.

We are all better people for having known Mr. Tommy and I'm so sorry God took him too soon. I can only assume that God had something that needed to be fixed or he needed some luck with the slots. 

May God bless all the Longos and Cahills, and may you all be comforted by the memories of a great man and role model.

I met Tommy when Bob and I became friends at the Cockeysville Volunteer Fire Company and the Longo Family treated me like one of their family. Tommy was a wonderful friend especially to my mother Elta Dixon. My deepest sympathy to Nancy and the Longo family.

Nancy, Joe and I were so very sorry to here of Tommy's passing.  Although we were only together a few times, we always enjoyed being with you both.  Please know that you and your family are in my prayers.

I am so sorry Nancy and family. Tommy was always so amazing to me, Brent my parents especially my Mom. He was also incredible to my husband and daughter. He was so kind and always made us feel welcomed. We will miss him. He is in Heaven now.
