William R. “Bill” Schroeder, 88, of Towson, Maryland, peacefully entered into eternal life on March 21st, 2023. Beloved and devoted husband to the love of his life Mary Louise Schroeder for 67 years; the son of the late George W. Schroeder and Hattie E. Schroeder; father of William R. Schroeder Jr., and his wife Leslie, and the late Mary Louise Greene. He was the dear brother of the late Gertrude Blumenauer, George H. Schroeder, Anna Kowalewski, and Dr. John Schroeder. Cherished grandfather of Jessica Greene, Danielle Webber, Violet Schroeder and Deanna Schroeder, and great grandfather to Jack and Cameron Webber. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and friends.
Bill was a master craftsman, a fixer of all things. He was known for his witty remarks and keen sense of humor, and love for all sweet treats.
Bill was an avid volunteer with Habitat for Humanity for many years. He was named Habitat for Humanity’s volunteer of the year, twice, and was also bestowed the Site Supervisor of Excellence Award. Bill was also inducted into the Senior Citizens Hall of Fame for the State of Maryland in 2016 for his many years of volunteer efforts within his community.
As leader of the Timonium United Methodist Church maintenance team for many years, Bill worked with his team to renovate the Fellowship Hall. His handiwork may be seen in many various areas of the Church, leaving his lasting legacy there.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at Timonium United Methodist Church, 2300 Pot Spring Road, Timonium, Maryland 21093 on Friday, March 31st at 1:00pm, with a reception to follow in Fellowship Hall.
