Dad passed peacefully in his sleep at home surrounded by his “Body Guards” on April 13, 2013. After a nearly 10 year battle with prostate cancer. Scoreboard-Chu-Chu-one, cancer-zero. Dad’s soul and spirit is now free to enter God’s Kingdom and be united with his loving wife of 47 yrs, Rachel. Born in Jalisco, Mexico, on September 5, 1930. Dad came to Los Angeles, California as a teenager to make a life for himself. As a young adult he got into professional boxing and was quite exceptional, winning championships in 2 weight classes--Fly & Featherweight. After the fight game, Dad got into the construction trades. In 1961, he found his true love, Rachel Romero. The rest is history; we came to Toledo, Ohio in 1968 to be close to Mom’s family. Dad continued in the trades and was a proud member of Locals 500 & 886, retiring in 1987. He loved 3 things, family, hard work and hard fun. I’ll let you figure that out if you knew him.
Jesus is survived by his son, Jose Alfredo Jimenez, daughter, Carmen (Ron) Castillo, grandchildren; Alejandra, Ron Jr. and Christina. Dad’s 2nd son “Uncle Sam” and his bodyguards; Big Oscar, Osa Maria and Sasa.
