
Charles W. Applegate, 80, of Forest Avenue, Maysville died Thursday, May 9, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Applegate retired from the Carnation Condensory Company after forty-one years of service and also was engaged in farming. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Ripley, Ohio. Mr. Applegate was born in Lewis County, Kentucky on November 6, 1932 the son of the late Harvey and Hattie Mason Applegate. He is survived by his wife whom he married in September, 1957, Alma Lancaster Applegate; two daughters, Rhonda Freidhoff (Delford) and Mary Beth Wilson (Eric) all of Aberdeen, Ohio; three sons, Joseph Applegate (June) of Aberdeen , OH, Roy Applegate of West Liberty, KY and Christopher Applegate (Carol) of Brooksville, KY; seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Applegate (Marie) and Melvin Applegate all of Vanceburg, KY; three sisters, Hazel Curtis (Douglas) of Midway, OH, Wilma Ruth Hatfield (Delbert) of Aberdeen, OH and Sherrel Truesdell of Maysville, KY; a special aunt, Jewell Mason of Rectorville and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one grand-daughter, Pauline Freidhoff, three brothers, Harry, Harvey and John Rodger Applegate and three sisters, Lorene Himes, Katheryne Bayless and Sandra Pauline Applegate. Funeral services for Charles Applegate will be held at the Plainview Baptist Church at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 11, 2013 with Rev. Doug Brown, Rev. James Tipton and Rev. Albert Simmons officiating. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Garden of Memories. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 11 AM until the hour of the service.
