Ofelia C. Martinez

Ofelia “Sally” Martinez was born to Eulogio and Carmen Aragon on August 4, 1936 in Clifton, AZ. She grew up in Morenci, AZ and attended school until her sophomore year prior to her move to City Terrace, CA. She completed her junior and senior year at Woodrow Wilson High School in El Sereno, CA. In August of 1958, she married Roberto S. Martinez and had three children together. Their marriage spanned for 62 years. Ofelia and Roberto moved to Safford upon retirement from Bassett Unified School District where she held the position of Administrative Assistant in the counselor’s office at Bassett High School. In 2003 Roberto and Ofelia moved to Tolleson, AZ and made their home on Hughes Drive as the final stop to their incredible journey together with their devoted dog Froste. Ofelia enjoyed her travels with her husband and friends to Laughlin, NV in addition to the local casinos. She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Robert J. Martinez, Eulogio Aragon (brother), Lydia Murillo (sister), Lupe Rodella (sister). She is survived by her husband Roberto, daughter Barbara, son-in-law Tommy, grandsons, Andrew (Danielle) Gill, Miles Gill, great grandchildren Mikayla Gill, Evelyn Gill, Greyson Gill, son William, daughter-in-law Rene, grandsons, Matthew (Korey) Zabala, Cameron Zabala, great granddaughter Peyton Zabala; siblings Tony Castaneda (brother), Irene Lopez (sister), Anita Mendoza (sister), Gloria Rodgers (sister) and her faithful and devoted dog Froste.

There will be a celebration of life March 28, 2020 at 12:00 PM. It will take place at 4548 E. Capistrano Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85044. Services were entrusted to Advantage Crystal Rose.
