

Alice Haege, 96, of Ocean County, NJ, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ. Born in West New York, NJ, she grew up in Elmhurst, NY. She lived in Belleville, NJ, for fifty years before moving to Ocean County, twelve years ago. She was a member of the Fewsmith Memorial Presbyterian Church in Belleville, NJ, and was a Girl Scout Leader in Belleville, NJ, for many years. Her favorite hobbies were crocheting and gardening.
Alice is predeceased by her parents, Adolf and Bertha Kittelberger; her husband, Herman Haege in 2003; her brother, Adolf Kittelberger; and her son-in-law, Richard Gehrmann. Surviving are two daughters, Lynn Gehrmann of Lincroft, and Joan Newby of Toms River; one sister, Hildegard Wahl of Toms River; four granddaughters, Amy Brainard and her husband Garrison, Jenny Gehrmann, Christine Newby, and Meg Newby; and two great-granddaughters, Emily Brainard and Hannah Brainard.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 27th, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and Thursday 9-9:30 AM, at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Bloomfield, NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to Habitat for Humanity, 1201 Route 166, Toms River, NJ 08753.
