Ann Garrison

Antoinette “Ann” Garrison (Martocci), age 97, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at her home in Toms River, NJ. Born on September 17, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Vito Martocci and Margaret (Marone) Martocci. Ann was born in Brooklyn, NY where she lived throughout her childhood and young adulthood.  After meeting her future husband, Raymond Garrison, at a dance in the Poconos in the early 1950s, they married in 1954 and settled in Nutley, NJ three years later with their two oldest children. They would have two more children after moving to Nutley. A homemaker during her children’s school-age years, Ann was active in the Nutley Women’s Club and eventually worked at a local gift shop before retiring with her husband to Toms River in 1991.

Ann enjoyed traveling, and she and Ray visited London, Italy, and Mexico, as well as making several trips to Atlantic City and Las Vegas for shows and some fun on the slot machines. They also appreciated living near the Jersey Shore, where they would frequent the Seaside, NJ boardwalk and their favorite restaurants.

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, her brother, Joseph Martocci, and her sister Margaret Martocci Juranich. She is survived by her sons, Raymond of West Caldwell, NJ; James, of Verona, NJ; and her daughters Patricia Garrison of Lewes, DE, Jacqueline Garrison of Hackensack, NJ, and five grandchildren. Ann will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
