Carmela Mele

Born in Elizabeth, she was a resident there until moving to Holiday City in 1994.

Mrs. Mele was a longtime parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, Elizabeth.

Carmela was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed decorating her home, holidays with her family, taking trips to Atlantic City and loved her scratch off lottery tickets. She was a homemaker until her children started school and then she went to work for the board of Education in Elizabeth until retiring in 1993. She was so loved and will be dearly missed.

She was predeceased by her husband, Dante, in 2012, her daughter-in-law, Suzanne in 2015, and by her brother, Basilio Randazzo in 1998.

Surviving are her children, Anthony and his wife Mary Ellen of Linden, Dante West Chester, PA, Richard of Toms River, and Joann Groninger and her husband Richard of Toms River; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-8pm at Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00am at the funeral home, with interment to follow at the Brig. Gen. W.C. Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.
