Claire Gioia, age 77, of the Holiday City section of Berkeley Township passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she lived in Pennsylvania before settling in Holiday City.
A homemaker, Mrs. Gioia enjoyed cooking and rooting for her favorite football team, The Pittsburgh Steelers.
She was predeceased by her husband, George P. Gioia Jr. in 2017. She is survived by her four sons, George III and his wife Susan, Michael and his wife Debra, Robert and his wife Colette, Stephen and his wife Tami; her brothers, Kenneth and William Elliott; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 3-7pm at Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, September 11, 2020 at St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Toms River, with interment immediately following at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood.
