He lived many years in Brick before moving to Baltimore MD in 2007.
Donald was a veteran of the US Army, having served in Germany during the Vietnam Conflict as a Medical Specialist.
He worked as a Senior Youth Worker at the Arthur Brisbane Child Treatment Center, Wall Township for many years.
He was predeceased by his mother, Dorothy Schotter Barnes.
He is survived by his former spouse, Christine Barnes, 2 children:
Carl K. Barnes and Elise M. Barnes; his father, James Barnes, a brother James Barnes, 2 sisters: Andrea Donovan and Kristine Barnes, and several nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by his companion Susan Howard.
