Dorothy O’Connor, 70, of Beachwood, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on February 19, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Jersey City, NJ, to the late Joseph and Mary (Demaritz) Halupka. Dorothy lived in Jersey City, where she graduated St. Michael’s H.S., until moving to Beachwood in 1978. She worked in retail sales at the Candle Factory in Beachwood for over twenty years. Dorothy loved gardening and spending time with her family.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband James O’Connor of 49 years; her two daughters: Jennifer Dolan and husband Michael, and Lisa Heimbuch and husband Richard; her grandson Michael Dolan; her brother Joseph Halupka and wife Nancy; and her two nephews: Stephen and Matthew.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 21st at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Rd., Bayville. Cremation will be private.
