Edward G. Orzepowski, 92, of Point Pleasant, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023. Born in Bayonne, NJ to his late parents Walter and Valerie Orzepowski, he formerly resided in Freehold, NJ. He graduated from St. Peters College in Jersey City, and enjoyed a long and fulfilling career working as a corporate accountant for J. M. Huber Corporation for 35+ years.
Ed was known by all as a kind, fun-loving, and gentle man. He was an amazing father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who found the most joy in spending time with his family. He was always up for a good time and loved celebrations with dancing, riding roller coasters in Walt Disney World, and watching an exciting kids ball game.
Some of his fondest memories were during his time spent serving with valor during the Korean War in the stunning Austrian Alps city of Salzburg. This is where he married the love of his life and fostered a lifelong affection for his favorite movie The Sound of Music. It’s believed he holds a record for the greatest number of viewings.
Surviving him are his beloved wife of more than 70 years, Jean Ann Orzepowski; two loving children and their spouses, Lisa and Jeffrey Jerman, and David and Elizabeth Orzepowski; two cherished grandchildren and their spouses, Kayla and Ahmet Kamil, Kevin and Jaime Duerkes; and treasured great-grandchildren Kai, Kensie and Kash Kamil, and Vienna Duerkes. He was predeceased by five sisters and four brothers.
At the end of his life Ed spread his infectious humor and optimism to all those who cared for him, and the family is grateful for their kindness and comfort during that time.
Cremation will be private. Arrangements entrusted to Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River, NJ 08755.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Edward’s memory are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. www.stjude.org
