Eugene Conforti

Born in Newark, NJ, Gene played football for Barringer High School, graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Newark State College (’69), and owned his own construction business while residing with his family in Toms River for 43 years. Gene was a beloved husband, father, friend, uncle and grandfather. He lived a life full of fun, generosity, and gave nothing but pure love to his family and friends. His role as a grandfather brought him immense pride and joy and he reveled in spending his free time attending their sporting events and activities to cheer them on.

Gene was known for his sense of humor, devotion to his family and friends, love of all sports, especially football and baseball, and love of great Italian food and music. He loved spending time with his family at the beach and the Conforti pool, creating ever-lasting memories. Gene leaves behind a legacy of hard work and unconditional love for all those that were close to him. A sensitive, and truly selfless man, Gene will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his loved ones.

He is survived by his cherished wife, Patti Conforti, of 46 years, his four children, Liza Larkin (Patrick), Gina DiGioia (Domenico), Patrick Conforti (Kristin), and Anthony Conforti (Ashley), and his beloved and beautiful 13 grandchildren. He is reunited in heaven with his parents, Emily and Patrick Conforti

A visitation for Eugene will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River, NJ 08755. A religious ceremony will occur Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Saint Justin the Martyr Roman Catholic Church, 975 Fischer Blvd, Toms River, NJ 08753. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at St Joseph's Catholic Cemetery and Mausoleums, 62 Cedar Grove Rd, Toms River, NJ 08753.
