She was born on Saturday, October 2nd, 1971 in Passaic, New Jersey to George and Maryann Scott. Fran grew up in Garfield, New Jersey with her older sister Joann and younger brother Anthony. Fran found joy in spending time with her family, and was known for her boisterous personality, big heart, and beating everyone at 500 Rummy or Scrabble on family game night.
Her larger than life personality allowed her to naturally become the center of attention wherever she was and be warmly embraced by the many she befriended. She enjoyed yearly camping trips, playing cards, gambling, and cracking open a cold one with her friends. In her free time, she could be found arguing with the cat about what time dinner is, shopping with her daughter, Ally, brainstorming ways to redecorate, coloring with her daughter, Taylor, and practicing her debating skills with her husband, Ed, whom she lovingly referred to as “the politician”. While not a world traveler, her love for her son, Anthony, has taken her across the country and even continents to experience life’s most precious moments.
Fran is survived by her children Anthony Spataro, Taylor Derick, and Allyson Derick. She was preceded in death by her father George Scott.”
