Born in Newark on February 19, 1926, Jean was the daughter of Jeremiah Dowd and Mary Skelly.
Prior to retiring in 1988, she worked for First Union (Wells Fargo) for 40 years.
Jean was a world traveler after retirement, filling three passports and sharing stories of her adventures with family and friends alike.
She moved to Original Leisure Village, Lakewood, in 2008.
She is survived by several cousins.
The family thanks Fountain View Care Center staff, particularly those in the Medici Wing, for the kindness and support shown to her since August 2015.
Funeral arrangements are private.
