George “Dick” Brewer, 83, of Toms River, passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. Born in Point Pleasant, NJ, he lived in Pleasant Plains section of Toms River and Pennsylvania before moving to Holiday City in 2015.
He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and was active during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1961. He was employed for many years as a licensed plumber and was a past member of the Pleasant Plains First Aid Squad. In George’s spare time, he enjoyed woodworking.
George is preceded in death by his parents Elizabeth and Robert Brewer; brothers, Bob, and Ray; sisters, Jean, Judy, Nancy, Ann, and Betty; and a daughter, Catherine Mary Rose.
Surviving him are his beloved wife of 42 years, Bernadette Brewer; sons, Randy, Rodney, and David Rose; daughter, Beth; six loving grandchildren; and a brother, Ed.
A Memorial Gathering will take place on Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 11:00am to 1:00pm, at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River, NJ 08755. A Reception will follow.
