
Born in Perth Amboy, he was raised in Metuchen and moved to Toms River after marrying Judith Gurley in 1969 to start a family.
George was a US Navy Veteran serving his country from 1969 until he was honorably discharged in 1975.
While on active duty, he served aboard the USS Biddle.
He obtained a Bachelor's degree from Salem College in West Virginia where he met his eventual wife to be, Judy.
George was employed as a Store Manager for over 40 years at several retail tire stores in the Toms River area, most recently for Mr. Tire. He was a member of the Toms River Elks Lodge.
George was fond of nature and ensured the flowers were in bloom and hummingbirds were aptly fed in the backyard.
He will also be remembered for being a fan of the football Giants, Villanova basketball, and day trips to Atlantic City.
He is survived by his wife, Judith; two daughters, Jennifer Carlisle and her husband Charles Chelednik of Brick, Denise E. Carlisle of Toms River and his Boston terrier, Spike.
Cremation was private.
Interment will take place at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown on January 23, 2015 at 1:00pm.
