

Greg Dennis Mergogey, 62 of Beachwood passed away peacefully on January 27, 2016. Born in Old Bridge, NJ he served in the US Air Force and worked at both Lakehurst Naval Air Station and MacDill Airforce Base in Tampa, FL until his retirement in 2015.
Predeceased by his parents, Helen and Chester Mergogey, his brother, James, his sister Sharon and his father in law, Simon “Sam” Doyle. He is survived by Jean, his wife, his children, Greg Joseph of Beachwood, Colleen (Justin) of San Francisco, CA and Thomas of West Chester, PA. He is also survived by his brothers, Chester “Rock” (Pam), Wayne (Carol) and Glenn (Sally), his mother-in-law, Loretta Doyle and Jean’s brothers and sisters, John (Caroline), James (Nancy), Mary (Martin), Lynn (Michael), Robert, Michael, Patricia (Michael), Bill (Michele); his many nieces and nephews and his life-long friends George Lorentzen (Monica) and Ricky Koogan.
Greg was a member of the Toms River Elks for more than 20 years and enjoyed traveling with his family. He had fond memories of the many trips he and his family took with his in-laws and the road-trip he took with Jean and his brothers and their wives to see his nephew Matthew (Melissa) married.
He will be missed by his many friends. Especially Robbey, Marcus, Karen and James in Tampa. He wanted to express his appreciation to the staff at Healthpoint Management Group, especially Dr. Robert Crescentini and Nurse Judy, Dr. Joseph Morelos of Jersey Shore Pediatric Associates and the Community Medical Center Radiation Department and nurses in unit 4B.
A viewing will be held Monday, February 1, 2016, from 4:00 to 9:00pm at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street Toms River, NJ. A Mass of Christion Burial will be held 10 am at St. Joseph’s Church, Toms River, Tuesday, February 2, 2016. Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C.
