

Jack Cameron Liddie Sr., passed away quietly at his home in Forked River on August 9th, 2016, at the age of 90. He was born on September 10th, 1925, in Newark, NJ. He graduated from Barringer H.S. and went on to serve in the Army during WWII as a radio operator on a bomber, earning a Purple Heart. After the war, Jack earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Rutgers University of NJ.Jack worked as a club performer playing piano, and as a guard for Brinks Security, before beginning his career in auditing for Prudential Insurance Company in Minneapolis and Newark. He retired from Prudential at the age of 55, and accepted the position of vice president of Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. Jack was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Toms River, where he served the Stephens Ministry, and was an active member of The Lacy Elks #2518. Jack's humor, his music, and his faithful service to others will be dearly missed.Jack was predeceased by his beloved wife of 47 years, Lois Mae Liddie (nee Van Dyke) also of Newark in 1997. He is survived by his three sons: David and his wife Susan of NY, Jack Jr. and his fiancé Cathleen Stevens of Bordentown, NJ, and Neil of CA; his two daughters: Susan Forfar and her husband Paul of Forked River, NJ, and Allison Berlier and her husband Edward of Carmel, Indiana; eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be Friday, August 12, from 7 to 9PM at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ. A Funeral Service at be held Friday evening, time to be announced. Cremation will be private. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 13, from 2 to 6PM, at the Lacey Elks Lodge #2518, 900 Beach Blvd., Forked River, NJ.
