Janice D. Zipperian

Janice Dorothy Matthews Zipperian, 77, of Toms River, passed away unexpectedly, yet peacefully, in her sleep on Wednesday, November 23, 2022. She was born in Lakewood, where she attended Lakewood High School, then settled with family in Toms River.

Janice worked for over thirty years as an administrative secretary for the Toms River Regional School District, where everybody knew her as “Jan, the sub caller.” She lived a very active life, attending many dance recitals, band concerts, and sporting events for her grandchildren. Janice loved to travel, especially to Walt Disney World, where she cried tears of joy when watching the fireworks over the castle in Magic Kingdom. In her “free time”, Janice enjoyed meeting with friends for wine and dinner.

Surviving are her longtime love of 35 years, Donald Hewitt; her loving daughters, Dawn Elmo and her husband Joseph and Kim Damico and her husband Pat; her adoring grandchildren Marissa, Joey Jr., Tanner and his wife Emily, Justin, Amanda, and Jade; and her older brother Robert Matthews.

Visitation will be on Sunday, November 27, 2022 from 2-5pm at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Street, Toms River, NJ. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 28, 2022 at 11 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Toms River, NJ.
