
She was born November 3, 1919 in Richmond Hill, NY to Theron R. Lyle and Bertha Eilingsfeld Lyle. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, John (Jack) Kemmer and a sister Betty Feld.
Jeanne graduated from Richmond Hill High School and Queens College where she was a member of the first graduating class. She married her high school sweetheart, Jack, on October 2, 1942 in Tacoma, WA. In 1947 they moved to Long Island, NY were they lived for 45 years raising a family and Jeanne enjoyed her hobbies of sewing and reading. She returned to the work force as a librarian at Hofstra University, alongside her sister Betty. In 1982 Jeanne and Jack retired to North Carolina where they enjoyed new friends and hiking the many trails in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Upon Jack’s death, Jeanne spent the rest of her time in New Jersey living with family.
Jeanne is survived by her daughters, Linda Barley and husband John of Liberty, NY and Gail Bayly and husband Doug of Island Heights, NJ; grandchildren, Kristen Tyson and husband Chris, Greg Bayly and wife Angela, Melissa Scheidelman and husband Scott, Allison Pena and husband Brian, Heather Lathrop and husband Biff. Also, great- grandchildren Devon, Jillian, Lincoln, Brielle, Camryn, Kendall, Jake, Alex, Abby, Laney, and Gabby.
