Joan P. Troiano, 84, of Bayville, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Tallwoods Care Center in Bayville. Born in New York City, NY, Joan lived in Dumont before moving to Toms River and later residing in Bayville. She retired from Toms River Regional Schools as maintenance supervisor after 12 years of service. Joan proudly served as Captain for 5 years with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and served as president of the Residents Council at Tallwoods. She loved to read and enjoyed art. Joan was an amazing mother and affectionate grandmother, she had a heart of gold, and always made you feel very special. Special Thanks to Tallwoods Care Center staff for their exceptional care and love.
Surviving are her loving children Carolann Chivers and Charles Troiano; four grandchildren Dawn Dowd, Tara Ross, Christopher Troiano and Megan Azambuja; 10 cherished great grandchildren; and her caring daughter-in-law Adrienne Troiano.
Private cremations services were held under the direction of Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home in Toms River.
