John Genna Jr.

Born on August 1, 1945 in Elizabeth, NJ to parents John Genna, Sr & Angela Fioretti, he married Roberta A. (née Dardis) of Elizabeth, NJ, in June of 1970. He is a graduate of the Thomas A. Edison Vocational & Technical High School in Elizabeth, NJ, Class of 1964. Mr. Genna worked for International Harvester for over 30 years. He is currently employed at Elizabeth Trucking Center.

Known to those closest to him as Ringo for his resemblance to the Beatles in his younger years or Buster, for his amazing sense of humor, John had a larger than life personality. Always one to lend a helping hand, you would frequently find him at his sons or neighbors. He proudly served our country in the Army during Vietnam. John is also a member of the American Legion & Knights of Columbus.

John is survived by his devoted wife Roberta of 45 years and their 3 sons: John Genna III of Toms River, Michael E. of Colonia & Edward R. of Toms River and his grandsons Brandon & Nicholas of Secaucus. Brother Joseph Genna & his wife Pat of Toms River & sister Jeanette Fedeli & husband Tony of Toms River and many beloved nieces & nephews.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate John's life on Thursday, June 11 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home , 703 Main Street, Toms River - (732) 349-5700.

The funeral mass will be held on Friday June 12 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 130 St. Maximilian Lane in Toms River. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Toms River.
