Born and raised in Paterson, he attended Central High School.
He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1964, and was stationed at Shaw Air Force Base 363rd Hospital, South Carolina as a medic.
He received the rank of Sergeant, and was honorably discharged in 1968 and returned home.
Mr. Lockwood moved to the Toms River area in 1972, and later settled in Whiting.
He is survived by his wife Jacqueline Lea Cross Lockwood, one son, Joshua Evan Lockwood and his wife Jennifer; and two grandchildren, Jayden Evan and Julian David Lockwood.
Cremation was private. Interment, with military honors, will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 10:30 am at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
