John J. Shea, III

John grew up in Queens Village, New York and spent his summers in Seaside Park since he was 18 years old. He lived in Farmingdale, NY and Huntington, NY before relocating to the Manchester area in 1995. He served in the Army during the Korean War and had a career in aerospace engineering with Grumman Aerospace. John's passion was golf. A scratch golfer most of his life. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Leisure Knoll as well as a USGA member.

John was predeceased by his parents, John and Bernadette Shea as well as his wife Patricia in 2007. Surviving are his children Patricia Shea Kelly and her husband John, Jean Clare Shea, Eileen Dorian and John J. Shea IV and his wife Jacqueline; grandchildren Sean Austin, Matthew Ahrnsbrak, Brendan Ahrnsbrak, Christopher Dorian, Andrew Dorian, Steven Dorian, Jacqueline Shea, John J. Shea V, Elizabeth Shea; great-grandchild Madison Ahrnsbrak; siblings Eileen Bantel and Janice Laurencelle.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 2PM to 4PM and 7PM to 9PM at Horizon Funeral & Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River. A mass of Christian burial will be offered on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at St. John RC Church, 619 Chestnut Street, Lakehurst at 8:45AM with military honors immediately following. Please meet at the church Saturday as there will not be a procession from the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Serenity Hospice Care, 2300 Hamilton Avenue, Hamilton, NJ 08619.
