

Joseph G Mancini passed away at the age of 91 at home surrounded by his loved ones on February 18th 2024 in South Tom’s River, NJ. Mancini was born on July 10th 1932 in Newark, NJ. Mancini was a hard worker, starting at the age of 6 as a shoe shine boy. He then went on to become a shoemaker in Bamberger’s department store where he met his wife, Arlene, they got married on October 9th 1954. Mancini was drafted into the army and was deployed to Korea where he was wounded and received a Purple Heart award. Upon returning back to the United States, he re entered the shoe maker business at Neil Cítola in Elizabeth, NJ. Mancini and his wife Arlene moved to south Tom’s River in 1959 and purchased the first model home in the Brook Forest Development. In 1969, Mancini went to work for the Tom’s River regional schools, where he retired from. After retiring, he took a job as a crossing guard for Pine Beach Police department until he officially retired at age 82. Mancini was predeceased by his mother Antionnette Martucci, father Angelo Mancini, and brother, George Mancini. Mancini left behind his wife Arlene Mancini, daughter Joanne Stiles, son in law, Gary Stiles, grandson, Nicholas Stiles, sisters Mary Zarconi and Rose Petti, along with nieces and nephews. Joseph Mancini was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and veteran and will be greatly missed.
