Joseph M. Peterson

Born in Philadelphia, PA to Paul Peterson and his wife, Joan, he grew up in Burlington, NJ and relocated several times before settling in Manahawkin. He worked for the Borough of Beach Haven as a machine operator for over twenty-five years and retired in 2015. In addition to being an avid golfer and an amazing cook, Joseph was an active member of the Ocean Community Church where he oversaw their sound board, praise band, volunteer work, and many other church services.

He was predeceased by both of his parents, and his son, Joseph Peterson Jr. Surviving are his children, Mathew Peterson of Manahawkin, NJ,

Kristinia Lyons and her husband, Brian, of Galloway, NJ, and Richard Schramm of Killeen, Texas; high school sweetheart and mother of his children, Christina Moore; grandson Nolan Lyons, and another grandchild on the way; two brothers, John Peterson of Medford, NJ and Paul Peterson of Woodbury, NJ and many loving family and friends.

Joseph was known for his upbeat spirit, which he upheld right up until passing. He will be greatly missed and forever in the hearts of those that knew him.
